Jeppe High School for Boys is one of South Africa’s top-ranked boys’ sports schools. With sports tours being such a fundamental part of their culture; there is no room for inefficient payment process. Everything needs to run like a well-oiled machine. Jeppe needed a way to collect tour payments in advance, allow their parents a way to budget for expensive tours, and make smarter financial decisions. Karri ticks every box.

The Solution

Here's how Jeppe uses Karri to take control of their sports tour finances:

1. Open collections in advance

Jeppe open their tour collections up to three months in advance, giving parents ample time to budget and pay in smaller increments.

Although finalising tour details so far in advance can be challenging, Laureen Schafer, a key member of Jeppe's finance department, speeds up the process with a form for coaches to complete. The form gathers all the relevant tour details such as the budget, dates, and the provisionally selected team. Once the form is complete, the finance team can easily create a collection on Karri.

2. Get cash in the bank before the tour starts

Karri gives parents the freedom to to budget, pay by credit card, or choose from other convenient payment methods. And when payments are easy, people pay faster. Laureen confirms, "I can say with 100% certainty that we collect more sports tour money using Karri."

3. Make their money work harder

With more cash in the bank, the school can cover tour deposits before students even board the bus. In addition, they can grow their cash balances in more efficient ways, like leaving it in an interesting-bearing account.

Jeppe is reaping significant rewards, not only by collecting more money for sports tours but also by building a community of financially empowered parents. Over the past few years, their Karri adoption rate has jumped from 22% to 88%, proving that a smart payment system makes a remarkable difference for the entire school.
